The Role
The Contract Pack Customer Manager acts as the voice of the customer within the business, fostering strong partnerships that support customer retention, operational excellence and sustainable growth across the contract packaging portfolio.
As the primary point of contact for contracted customers, this role is accountable for customer satisfaction, demand and production alignment, contract execution and customer performance.
The role works closely with Planning, Operations, Winemaking, Quality, Product Management and Finance teams to ensure customer requirements are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed commitments.
Responsibilities:
Lead the management of key customer accounts
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
Lead monthly business review meetings with customers
Monthly forecasting for third-party customers, ensuring alignment across Planning, MRP, Operations and Winemaking teams.
Manage the onboarding of new customers
Lead the management and resolution of customer quality incidents, including complaints, non-conformances (NCRs) and concessions
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Finance and Product Management
Collaborate with Product Management and Finance teams to deliver customer innovation and New Product Development (NPD) initiatives.
Monitor and report on customer performance through monthly business reviews
Champion data integrity and accuracy across customer forecasts, inventory, production schedules and performance reporting.
Provide leadership, coaching and direction to the Third-Party Coordinator, ensuring effective execution of customer and operational priorities.
Essential
Minimum 7–10 years' experience in FMCG, beverage, wine, manufacturing or contract packaging environments.
Demonstrated experience managing complex customer contracts and commercial relationships
Proven experience leading cross-functional planning processes
Experience managing contract negotiations, service level agreements (SLAs) and contractual KPI performance.
Strong commercial acumen with experience interpreting customer profitability, cost-to-serve and P&L reporting.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
Experience working with ERP, reporting and business management systems.
Preferred:
Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Management or a related field.
Experience within wine, beverage manufacturing or contract packaging environments.
Experience presenting business performance reviews to senior customer stakeholders.
Experience managing customer onboarding, product launches and innovation projects.
