The role of the Cyber Incident Response Analyst involves leading the technical aspects of cybersecurity investigations, ensuring accurate and timely identification of information security issues. The primary objective is to safeguard TPG Telecom's assets and infrastructure from cyberattacks. This is achieved through the effective handling of incidents, vulnerabilities, and escalations.
As part of the position, you will have the opportunity to work with industry-leading Cyber Security tools, techniques, and best practices. This enables you to navigate the ever-changing threat landscape with proficiency, staying ahead of emerging risks and ensuring proactive protection for the organization.
You'll make impact by:
- Provide technical expertise to support forensic analysis of threat landscape artifacts, such as network packets, malware code, and security event logs
- Perform forensic data collection and investigation in response to security incidents, following the Cyber Kill Chain framework
- Mitigate the impact of cyber incidents by promptly containing damage and restoring normal operations
- Investigate the root causes of cyber incidents and develop remediation plans
- Prepare for cyber incidents by maintaining an up-to-date incident response plan and ensuring necessary access and accounts for security-related systems
- Actively identify, investigate, and resolve detected security issues
- Author incident reports tailored for peer and senior audiences
- Utilize tools, threat intelligence, and technical expertise to gain deeper insights into threats
- Respond to information security incidents promptly and effectively
Participate in an "on-call" roster, as required, to ensure incident response coverage outside of regular working

What you’ll bring:
- Experience in cybersecurity roles such as Incident Responder, Security Consultant, SOC Analyst, Security Researcher, or similar
- Information Security related experience, in areas such as: security operations, incident log analysis, intrusion detection, or firewall administration
- In depth technical forensic investigation and analysis skills, includes TCP/IP knowledge, networking and malware code reverse-engineering experience
- A passion for learning and a desire to succeed
Excellent and professional communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to articulate complex topics in a clear and concise manner.
