Occupational Therapy Services at Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) delivers high-quality, patient-centred care across acute, sub-acute, ambulatory and community settings. As part of a large and diverse allied health workforce, we work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patients across the continuum of care, promoting safety, independence and participation in everyday life. CHHHS provides specialist healthcare services to communities across Far North Queensland, with Cairns Hospital serving as the region's major referral centre.
Our Occupational Therapists play a vital role in complex care coordination, rehabilitation and discharge planning, partnering with patients, families and stakeholders to achieve safe and sustainable outcomes. About your opportunity:
In this role you will.....
Utilise high level Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills in the area of NDIS and complex discharge planning to provide advice, clinical guidance and consultation to CHHHS senior management, clinical staff and other relevant stakeholders.
Provide and actively contribute to the development of inter-professional competence for all clinicians involved in the area of NDIS to improve outcomes for NDIS eligible patients living with a disability.
Liaise and work effectively in a professional manner with clients and their carers, other health professionals, students and external agencies to achieve a client centred approach, utilising negotiation and conflict resolution skills as required.
Lead professional, patient safety and service improvement activities in the area of NDIS practice and initiatives including the development and evaluation of CHHHS policy, procedures, guidelines and training / education initiatives.
