A Life Plus is a Sydney-based ready-meal production company operating from our facility in Botany, specialising in keto and high-protein meals alongside customised NDIS meal preparation. We prepare, cook, portion, pack and dispatch meals in-house and are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead product consistency, quality systems and production standards as we grow.
This role combines strategic ownership of our quality systems with close, regular engagement on the production floor, working with cooks, prep staff and packers to translate quality standards into daily practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product quality and consistency standards across the full production process
- Set and monitor portion weight and recipe specification standards
- Verify keto, high-protein and NDIS-customised meals meet individual dietary and health requirements for clients with specific medical conditions, including overseeing ingredient substitutions based on client needs
- Develop, own and continuously improve SOPs, checklists and QA checkpoints
- Train, coach and manage production staff performance against quality and food safety standards
- Lead regular quality reviews and direct real-time corrective action
- Investigate recurring production problems and lead root-cause resolution
- Drive initiatives to reduce food waste, improve ingredient yield and minimise rework
- Own and improve batch sheets and production procedures
- Lead quality planning for new product and SKU launches
- Lead production flow and standardisation improvements
- Partner with senior management on quality and production strategy
About You
You should have previous experience in QA management, production quality leadership or operations management within a commercial kitchen, ready-meal business, catering operation or high-volume food production environment.
You should be comfortable engaging regularly with the production floor while owning quality standards and outcomes at a management level.
Experience leading HACCP, food safety, SOP development, staff training, waste reduction, yield improvement or production process improvement is highly valued.
Experience with customised or medically-tailored meal production, such as NDIS, aged care, or clinical dietary meal services, is highly regarded, given the need to manage ingredient substitutions and dietary customisation for clients with specific health conditions.
Food Safety Supervisor certification or a similar Australian food safety qualification is desirable.
