- Contributing to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
- Creating inspiring and commercially relevant home furnishing solutions that improve people’s lives at home.
- Using your visual merchandising and design expertise to strengthen the IKEA identity through store layout, range presentation and customer experience.
- Planning, coordinating and delivering projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring deadlines and commercial objectives are met.
- Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across the store to bring ideas to life and influence positive business outcomes.
- Communicating and presenting design concepts in a clear, engaging and commercially compelling way.

Key responsibilities (text) As a Visual Merchandiser, you are passionate about home furnishing and curious about how people live in their homes. You are a creative thinker with strong commercial awareness and a talent for transforming insights into inspiring retail environments that enhance the customer experience, drive sales, and bring the IKEA brand to life.
You are:
- Experienced in visual merchandising within a retail environment, with a proven ability to create engaging and commercially relevant customer experiences.
- Skilled in styling, space planning, colour coordination, presentation, and visual storytelling, with a strong eye for design and aesthetics.
- Knowledgeable in store layouts, customer journeys, and visual merchandising principles, balancing creativity with commercial priorities.
- Proficient in digital and design tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, and/or SketchUp to develop concepts and turn ideas into reality.
- A strong communicator who builds effective relationships and collaborates confidently with a wide range of stakeholders across all areas of the business.
- Comfortable taking initiative, influencing others, and driving projects through to successful outcomes.
- Practical, hands-on, and highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Committed to continuous learning and personal development, actively seeking opportunities to grow your skills and expertise.
- Passionate about creating inspiring, customer-focused spaces that reflect customer needs, home furnishing trends, and the IKEA vision.
- Formally qualified in visual merchandising, interior design, design, or a related field, or able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience.

Team vision (text) • This role is Permanent Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
- The internal job title is Visual Merchandising/Activity Co-worker
- This role is located on-site at IKEA Tempe
- You must have the availability to work 7:30am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and public holiday shifts as required by business needs.
- As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will be required to complete pre-employment checks.
- Successful candidates will need to obtain a National Police Check.
Recruitment Process Overview:
