The Role
The Senior Data Analyst sits within the System Evaluation and Reform team in the Policy and Strategy Division and plays an important role in ensuring effective and efficient funding of vocational education and training to meet Government's skills and workforce-related priorities.
This role will undertake important analysis to inform the evaluation of VET policy across Victoria, including:

Designing tools and systems to support analysis and performance reporting.

Presenting actionable policy insights to support decision-making by senior executives.

Developing solutions to complex ambiguous policy problems.
The Team
The position of Senior Data Analyst forms a part of the Policy and Strategy branch within the Skills and TAFE group.
Skills and TAFE (S&T) focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations. Policy and Strategy Branch (PSB) leads the system and strategic policy settings of Victoria's VET system so that it delivers high quality outcomes for learners and the Victorian economy.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Data Literacy: Derives value from data sets to enable immediate and/or future decision making (predictive). Has expertise in formulation of basic data models or algorithms.

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Delivers tangible business outcomes as a result of critically evaluating problems from multiple perspectives and delivering effective solutions.

Communicate with Impact: Makes a positive impression on others and comes across with credibility; Communicates in a manner that is clear, fluent and holds the listeners' attention; Able to deal with difficult and sensitive topics and questions.
