Do you enjoy working outdoors and getting your hands dirty? As a Farm Hand / Haulout Driver at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you'll be responsible for safely operating cane haulout equipment and supporting the production of sugarcane for our mills during the crushing period.
This fixed term position will be based in North Queensland's Burdekin region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. The Burdekin region offers a fantastic lifestyle with a warm climate, beautiful beaches and a range of recreational activities, making it a great place to live and work.
Your Role in Action
- Machinery: Operate cane haulout equipment, trucks and/or transporters, tractors and other farming equipment.
- Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance and repairs as required.
- Irrigation: Assist with irrigation tasks to keep crops thriving.
- Field Operations: Help with row cropping and other field operations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate farm records, pre-start checklists and safety risk assessments.
Your Winning Combination
The successful applicant must have prior experience driving heavy machinery and operating tractor transporters/haulouts, hold a "C Class" Drivers Licence and be a strong communicator. Bonus points for applicants who also have row cropping and irrigation experience (training provided for the right person).
