What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a dedicated, disciplined, and technically skilled Full-Time Chef to support our culinary operations under the direction of our Head Chef. This role does not carry supervisory or management responsibilities; instead, we require a reliable professional focused on executing recipes to exact specifications, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and upholding strict standards of cleanliness and food safety.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Qualifications: Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or IV).
- Experience: Proven experience in a high-volume, fast-paced cafe or restaurant kitchen.
- Technical Skills: Strong foundational cooking techniques, precise knife skills, and a thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP regulations.
- Operational Capabilities: Ability to work efficiently under pressure, multi-task, and consistently execute dishes during peak service times.
- Professionalism: Punctual, organized, and receptive to direction from the Head Chef.
- Availability: Full flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in the daily preparation, cooking, and plating of all menu items.
- Ensure consistency in portion control, flavor profiling, and presentation according to established standards.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized workstation in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Receive stock deliveries, ensure proper rotation (FIFO), and assist in minimizing food waste.
- Collaborate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.
