We’re hiring a Mackay Operations & Team Lead to run day-to-day service delivery for our Mackay-based team. This is a permanent part-time role (25 hours per week) combining rostering + team leadership + quality/compliance + a small participant caseload.
You’ll be the key point of coordination for our Mackay operations, supporting a team of approximately 7–10 support workers and ensuring participants receive consistent, trauma-informed support.
Key responsibilities:
· Rostering & coverage: build and maintain rosters, manage leave coverage, reduce last-minute gaps, and support continuity of care.
· Service delivery & case oversight: hold a small caseload for service delivery oversight, and support quality across the broader Mackay client base.
· Team leadership: run staff meetings, reflective practice and case reviews; provide supervision, coaching and feedback.
· Training & onboarding: coordinate onboarding, compliance checks, and training refreshers; identify skill gaps and support capability uplift.
· Recruitment: support hiring of support workers (screening, interviews, reference checks, onboarding).
· Safety, incidents & documentation: ensure timely, defensible documentation and appropriate escalation for incidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns.
On-call expectations: Some on-call duties may be required to support staff coverage during leave periods (as agreed between management).
What we’re looking for
· Diploma or above in Community Services or a related field (or equivalent demonstrated experience in a community services role and a willingness to complete a Diploma in Community services or above)
· Experience coordinating or leading disability/community support teams (NDIS context strongly preferred)
· Strong rostering and operational coordination skills
· Confident, calm decision-making in complex situations (trauma-informed, rights-based, client-centered)
· Proven people leadership (supervision, performance conversations, team culture)
· Excellent written documentation and communication skills
· High integrity, strong boundaries, and a genuine commitment to participant safety
Requirements:
· Current First Aid/CPR
· NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain)
· Working With Children Check (Blue Card) (or ability to obtain)
· Current driver’s license and reliable vehicle with full insurance coverage.
