We are looking for a Junior Cyber Security Analyst to assist in maintaining the security posture of Country Road Group through effectively monitoring our systems and responding adequately to incidents.
You will be working across our cyber security systems alongside the cyber function, internal IT teams and external service providers. This role is about the effective identification of security problems, resolving them, and working to improve either the response plans, or control systems to continuously improve defences.
Based in Melbourne with a hybrid mix of time in the office and from home, this role will suit someone with a foundational understanding of security operations, incident response, and cyber security concepts. Ideally you have gained this knowledge through study, internships, projects, labs, or certifications and are eager to apply and build on that knowledge in a live, fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity for a graduate looking for their first role in a corporate security team; you'll be supported by an experienced team as you grow into the role.
How You'll Contribute
- Analyse, review, and respond to security alerts, events and vulnerabilities including triaging and advising on mitigation, and improvement activities
- Develop plans or playbooks to respond to and recover from a security breach
- Work with our outsourced Managed Detection and Response team to continually improve and refine the service
- Contribute to enhancing the technical security posture of the organisation
- Review, and monitor alerts for the below systems. Report on coverage and propose improvements where applicable:
- Managed Detection and Response, Endpoint Detection and Response
- Vulnerability Management, Email Security Gateway, Cloud Security
- Assist with the development of regular and ad-hoc information security reports
- Maintain strong working relationships through collaboration on accomplishing shared goals, sharing ideas, and knowledge within the business
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cyber threats
Capabilities We Value
- A degree (or near-completion) in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- A foundational understanding of cyber security best practices, gained through study, coursework, personal projects, internships, or self-directed learning
- Exposure to cyber security concepts, tools, or platforms (e.g. through university labs, CTFs, home labs, or internships)
- A genuine willingness and enthusiasm to learn new technologies
- Exposure to the CIS Controls or MITRE ATT&CK framework (e.g. through study or personal projects)
- Any hands-on exposure to the technologies mentioned in the role description
- Security, network, operating system, or cloud certifications (including in-progress certifications)
