The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Tax Analyst to join a high-performing and growing Tax Department in South Melbourne. Supporting a complex Australian group structure, you will play a key role in delivering both direct and indirect tax compliance obligations.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing income tax, GST, and broader compliance requirements, while supporting quarterly reporting cycles, lodgements, and ATO correspondence.
You will also contribute to tax reporting, governance initiatives, and provide support to key stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
Working in a collaborative and commercially focused environment, you will gain strong exposure to a broad range of tax matters, enabling you to deepen your technical capability and transition your career into a dynamic in-house setting.
Key responsibilities:
Manage tax registrations with the ABR and ATO, including administration of the ATO Business Portal, while preparing quarterly tax calculations, tax provisions, and corporate income tax returns for Australian entities and joint ventures.
Oversee indirect tax compliance, including GST and Business Activity Statements, FBT returns, and Taxable Annual Payment Reporting requirements, ensuring all lodgement deadlines are met.
Support tax reporting processes, including tax effect accounting, quarterly and year-end reporting, and maintaining accurate tax data within internal systems.
Assist with transfer pricing compliance, monitor international related-party transactions, and manage compliance obligations, ATO correspondence, reviews, and audits.
Research and interpret tax legislation, provide practical advice to stakeholders, support tax governance and risk initiatives, and identify opportunities to improve compliance processes and efficiencies.
Required Skills and Competencies

You hold tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, or Finance and are currently completing or planning to commence your CA or CPA.

2–3 years’ experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm, with exposure to corporate tax, GST, and FBT compliance.

Strong foundation in accounting principles, with experience supporting compliance lodgements, reporting timelines, and managing competing deadlines.

Highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing administrative components of tax compliance, including correspondence and regulatory requirements.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with ERP systems such as SAP, with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
