Part-Time (Hours to Increase as the Centre Grows)
Growth Mindset Early Learning Centre is excited to welcome applications for a Cook to join our brand-new, purpose-built 108-place early learning centre in Campbelltown.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a passionate team from the very beginning, helping establish a high-quality food service that supports children's health, wellbeing and development.
Our centre features a fully equipped commercial kitchen, where all meals are freshly prepared and cooked on-site each day. We pride ourselves on providing nutritious, balanced meals that children enjoy while catering to individual dietary requirements and allergies.
As enrolments increase, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to increase their working hours in line with the growth of the service.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking nutritious breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snacks each day.
- Following a rotating seasonal menu while ensuring meals are appealing, nutritious and age appropriate.
- Preparing meals for children with allergies, medical conditions and cultural or dietary requirements.
- Maintaining exceptional food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen presentation standards.
- Managing food ordering, stock rotation and inventory.
- Ensuring compliance with Food Safety Standards and NSW Health requirements.
- Maintaining accurate food safety records, temperature logs and cleaning schedules.
- Working collaboratively with educators and management to provide an outstanding dining experience for children.
Essential Requirements
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Essential)
- Experience preparing meals in a commercial kitchen, childcare, school, café or similar environment.
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices and allergen management.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards.
- Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
