Reporting to the Program Manager, the Integrated Communications Project Manager will have Management responsibility for the Integrated Communications Program, discipline aligned projects, and Integrated Communications staff. The role includes responsibility for managing, maintaining, supporting, and modernising the Communications Subsystems to ensure its ongoing operational effectiveness, reliability, availability, and alignment with customer and program requirements.
A key responsibility of the role is strong vendor and stakeholder engagement, including the management of strategic vendor relationships, supplier performance, technical and commercial negotiations, and the coordination of external partners to ensure solutions and services meet contractual, operational, technical, and program requirements.
The Integrated Communications Project Manager is also responsible for managing the associated professional services business', supporting business development activities, identifying opportunities for capability enhancement and growth and undertaking representational duties on behalf of Cubic
This role is Townsville-based, but will require the incumbent to undertake travel throughout Australia and overseas to support this and other Cubic projects.
Role Responsibilities:

Assistant to the Program Manager for all Training Area Technical Systems and projects.

Sustain Communications and Telemetry Sub-system (CTS) operational readiness and availability.

Develop and modernise CTS capabilities and support overall CTC-LIS Mission System development.

Assist in capture management for Base and Training Area communications.
-
Represent Cubic RF and LTE business by developing opportunities within program.

Manage Integrated Communications team staff, including their professional development.

Prepare and manage submissions across Department of Defence and other government Panels.
-
Perform discrete project management activities in support of Cubic's products and services in Australia, as required.

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential
-
Tertiary education in business management.
-
Vendor management – from concept / solution development, proposal, negation, contract management support to solution delivery and implementation.

Background in multimedium communications networks.
-
Knowledge and understanding of radio spectrum, licensing, RF planning, propagation, latency and synchronization of carrier grade networks.
- Experience in DMR, LMR, Wi-Fi, Microwave, LTE, 5G, Geo Stationery and LEO Satellite communications systems and infrastructure.

Good understanding of complex networks, hardware components and systems software and operating systems.

Ability to quickly understand a system or sub system concepts, purpose use cases.

Previous experience upgrading, modernizing, future proofing networks and network infrastructure.

Complex and technical problem-solving skills.

Project manage small to medium technical projects.

Internal and external stakeholder engagement management.

Previous experience maintaining and managing multimedium communications networks and infrastructure

Experience in off grid power systems, including solar and battery storage systems design, delivery, operational support and management
