About the role
We are seeking a full-time Motor Mechanic to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing and maintaining light vehicles and assisting with day-to-day workshop operations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles.
- Service and repair engines, transmissions, suspension, steering and braking systems.
- Perform scheduled servicing, oil changes, tune-ups and general maintenance.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to test vehicle systems and identify faults.
- Repair and replace worn or defective parts and reassemble mechanical components.
- Test and adjust mechanical parts after repairs to ensure proper performance.
- Maintain accurate service records, repair notes and parts information.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to workshop standards.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean workshop environment.
- Liaise with the workshop manager regarding repair requirements, parts and job progress.
Skills and experience required
- Certificate III or Certificate IV in Automotive or equivalent
- At least 1 year of relevant full-time experience as a motor mechanic
- Strong knowledge of light vehicle servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment, workshop tools and service manuals.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team.
- Current driver licence preferred.
- NSW Motor Vehicle Tradesperson Certificate or eligibility to obtain one
Pay: $80,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
