Primary objective
The Systems Administrator provides corporate business system technical and subject matter expertise in the delivery of escalated
support services. Services include incident, problem, service request and change management relevant to supported systems; as
well as completion of maintenance and monitoring activities.
Context statement
Across Government Systems manages whole of enterprise (common use) business systems through their lifecycle from strategy to
design, development, release and deployment, operational delivery, maintenance, support and retirement. This position may
support a range of enterprise systems within the division.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide advice to management and key stakeholders in relation to the development, delivery and maintenance of relevant
services and the identification of potential risks, sensitivities and technical solutions.
2. Investigate and resolve issues in a timely manner while capturing and communicating resolution information.
3. Undertake system administration related management, monitoring and maintenance activity relevant to enterprise corporate
systems.
4. Assist with identifying and documenting robust system audit procedures to ensure system integrity is maintained.
5. Assist in the review and development of appropriate advice, policies and procedures relevant to enterprise corporate systems.
6. Actively participate as a full member of the business area contributing innovative ideas and solutions and working in accordance
with direction from management in line with established policies and procedures.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Well-developed technical expertise across a range of technologies and experience in providing client application support and
administration.
2. Proven analytical ability including issue investigation, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and identifying solutions that meet
client needs while adhering to policy and legislation.
3. Sound knowledge of common service management tools, methodologies, frameworks and systems and how they apply to
application management.
4. Well-developed communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders in the delivery
of outcomes.
5. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and implement operational project tasks and bodies of work.
6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice,
accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
Desirable
1. Prior experience in global administration of Atlassian products or similar service management systems.
2. Relevant certifications or experience working in a DevOps environment such as DevOps, ITIL, or other Service Management
certifications.
