Position DescriptionFirst Year ApprenticePosition Overview
As a First Year Apprentice at Keep Modular, you will work alongside our experienced production and construction team to learn all aspects of modular building construction. You will gain hands on experience in the manufacture, assembly and installation of prefabricated buildings while developing the skills required to become a qualified tradesperson.
This role is suited to someone who is eager to learn, takes pride in their work, and enjoys working in a team environment. No previous experience is required, only a strong work ethic and willingness to develop.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Manufacturing
- Assist with the construction and assembly of modular buildings.
- Learn basic carpentry techniques including measuring, cutting and fixing materials.
- Assist with wall, floor and roof framing.
- Install insulation, cladding, flooring and internal linings under supervision.
- Help maintain a clean, organised and efficient workshop.
Construction Support
- Assist qualified tradespeople with daily tasks.
- Load, unload and organise building materials and tools.
- Learn the correct use and maintenance of hand and power tools.
- Support module preparation for transport and installation.
- Attend site installations when required.
Safety & Quality
- Follow all Workplace Health and Safety procedures.
- Wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Complete work to company quality standards.
- Report hazards, incidents or damaged equipment immediately.
Learning & Development
- Attend TAFE and complete all apprenticeship coursework.
- Take direction from supervisors and experienced tradespeople.
- Continuously build knowledge of construction methods, materials and tools.
- Ask questions and actively seek opportunities to improve skills.
- Participate in toolbox talks and training sessions.

Desirable Qualifications
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain.
- Current Driver's Licence (or working towards obtaining one).
- Basic understanding of hand tools is advantageous but not essential.

Keep Modular is committed to developing apprentices into highly skilled tradespeople. Throughout your apprenticeship you will gain experience across all stages of modular construction, including:
- Structural framing
- External cladding and roofing
- Internal fit-out
- Finishing and quality control
- Module preparation and transport
- Site installation
Successful apprentices will have opportunities to progress into qualified trade roles and, over time, leading hand or supervisory positions within the business.
Pay: From $700.00 per week
