Where you'll be working
Western Sydney Local Health District is responsible for the provision of health services to the local government area comprised of Auburn, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Holroyd, and Parramatta and tertiary care. These services are provided through a number of hospital and community-based facilities located strategically across the District.
Western Sydney Local Health District is committed to achieving continuous quality improvement in client services within a Quality Management framework, with a supporting Strategic Plan aimed at the continuous improvement of all facilities. The District has individual facilities located at Westmead, Cumberland, Auburn, Blacktown and Mount Druitt. Westmead Fertility Centre is located in Westmead Hospital.
All hospitals provide a range of both in-patient and outpatient services to clients both from within the boundaries of the District and cross border flows. In addition to this, there are a number of facilitates strategically located across the District that provide primary health care services to the community.

What you'll be doing
WSLHD - Provisional Fellow - Obstetrics & Gynaecology – Endocrine\ Infertility (REI)
The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment whilst developing higher professional maturity and professionalism during the RANZCOG Advanced Training Program, with the goal of obtaining FRANZCOG and/or CREI subspecialty qualifications. The Provisional Fellow (REI) will, under an appropriate level of supervision by senior staff as approved by the RANZCOG, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients presenting with infertility.
This is a subspecialty position for a senior O&G medical officer with interest in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility who will assist in all aspects of the management of patients with infertility.

Westmead Hospital and secondment Hospitals, including but not limited to Westmead Private Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital, San Private Hospital, Auburn Hospital, Blacktown Hospital and Westmead Childrens Hospital.
Training Opportunities
The training opportunities available in the position of Provisional Fellow (Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility) include:
- Development of surgical and procedural skills (such as laparoscopic surgery, egg pick up, and intrauterine insemination) with a specific focus on reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
- Education via regular structured and unstructured teaching and education
- Access to support for research, audits and patient safety and quality improvement projects.
- Development of skills in management of both admitted and outpatients.
Development of skills and knowledge specific to the treatment and care of men and women requiring care for reproductive endocrinology and infertility conditions.
Supervision Arrangements
The Provisional Fellow (Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility) is expected to supervise junior doctors and students. The Provisional Fellow (Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility) is supervised by the Westmead Fertility Centre Medical Director, Dr Howard Smith, the training supervisor, Dr Warren Chan CREI and the other consultants as indicated.
