About the role
This role plays a crucial role within the Emergency Response and Operations function, focusing on enabling effective and timely response activities during emergencies within WA. This position ensures that local response needs are prioritised, while adhering to nationally consistent standards and protocols, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance response effectiveness.
What you will bring
Ability to lead and motivate a diverse workforce in a state or territory-specific context.
- Sound discipline knowledge gained through experience in emergency response or related fields, with a demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage response activities in dynamic environments.
- Demonstrated experience working with local authorities, community organisations, and stakeholders to achieve common objectives during emergencies.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities including staff and volunteers during high-pressure situations.
- Analytical mindset with the capability to assess complex situations and drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and foster collaborative relationships externally, internally and with volunteers.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and engage a volunteer workforce
- Ability to successfully work with and lead teams and people from diverse backgrounds to create a collaborative working environment

Work flexibility:
Australian Red Cross operates under a hybrid working model which includes two days on-site and three days from home
