About the role
An exciting temporary opportunity exists for a Performance Management Engineer to join the Parking Technology and Contracts Team within Parking Services.
This role plays an important part in ensuring the effective management of the City of Melbourne's parking technology and service contracts during a period of significant operational activity and change.
Over the next 12 months, the team will continue embedding the new Infringement Issuing Application contract and support operational changes associated with implementation of the Parking a Kerbside Management Plan. The team will also oversee the ongoing performance of critical parking assets and services. This includes parking meters, pay-by-phone, car share, towing, impound and off-street car parks.
As a key member of the team, you'll contribute to maintaining high service standards while helping deliver innovative projects focused on emerging parking technologies that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency across Melbourne.
A little more about the role
Reporting to the Team Leader Parking Technology and Contracts, you will:
- Support the administration, governance and performance monitoring of key Parking Services contracts.
- Review contractor claims, process invoices and assist with budget monitoring and financial reporting activities.
- Monitor parking revenue data, investigate discrepancies and work collaboratively with service providers and internal stakeholders to achieve timely resolutions.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of parking asset data and contribute to asset performance reporting and quality assurance activities.
- Assist with the delivery of parking capital works, operational projects and emerging technology initiatives.
- Analyse parking occupancy, utilisation and compliance data to provide insights that support decision-making and service improvements.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and respond to enquiries relating to parking technology, payment systems and parking assets.
- Build strong relationships with contractors, technology vendors and stakeholders to support effective service delivery and continuous improvement.

What your experience might look like - Key Selection Criteria
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering or a Diploma-level qualification in a relevant technical field, with experience in contract administration, asset management, engineering or operational support environments.
- Demonstrated experience monitoring contract performance, reporting on outcomes and supporting financial administration, budgeting or payment processes.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret operational, financial and asset management data and provide meaningful insights.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and other business systems to support reporting, analysis and decision-making.
- Excellent customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving capability, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and contribute effectively within a team environment.
