Your new role:
As a Registered Nurse within the Internal Medicine Acuity and Support Team (IMAST), you will work alongside the Clinical Nurse Consultant to provide expert clinical support across Logan Hospital's inpatient medical wards, helping to manage patient acuity, patient flow and emerging operational pressures by:
Delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred nursing care across a variety of medical specialties
Providing direct clinical support for high-acuity and complex patients
Assisting with admissions, discharges and patient flow activities to support timely care delivery
Responding to deteriorating patients in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and existing escalation services
Supporting patients requiring enhanced behavioural management or safety supervision
Providing clinical mentorship, guidance and support to nursing colleagues
Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice
About you:
You are a capable and adaptable Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively to deliver outstanding patient outcomes, with:
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse
Demonstrated experience in acute medical nursing and caring for patients with complex health needs
Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to recognise and respond to deteriorating patients
Experience supporting patient flow, admissions, transfers and discharge processes
Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
Sound clinical judgement, critical thinking and decision-making abilities
A commitment to person-centred care, continuous learning and professional excellence
Experience using electronic medical records and digital clinical systems
