About the Role
As a Catering Attendant, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for our residents while supporting our kitchen team to deliver nutritious, high-quality meals. The role combines food preparation, dining service, food safety and resident interaction to ensure every resident enjoys a safe, welcoming and person-centred mealtime experience.
Your duties will include:
- Assisting with food preparation and meal plating
- Serving meals and beverages to residents
- Supporting resident choice by taking meal orders and accommodating dietary requirements
- Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining environment
- Completing food safety and temperature monitoring
- Washing dishes and kitchen equipment
- Monitoring and reporting resident food intake where required
- Using catering software and following menu systems
- Assisting with special events, functions and celebrations
- Working collaboratively with chefs, catering staff and the clinical team to deliver exceptional service.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- A caring, positive and team-focused attitude
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Reliable and flexible availability
Desirable
- Previous experience in aged care, hospitality or commercial catering
- Food Safety or Food Handler Certificate
- Certificate II in Hospitality or Health Services
- Experience working with modified diets or texture-modified meals
