About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and proactive Disability Support Worker to provide 1:1 primary support for a male participant with Cerebral Palsy who is a wheelchair user.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mobility Support: Performing 1:1 ceiling hoist transfers.
- Personal Care: Assisting with showering, basic bowel/bladder care, oral hygiene, and dressing.
- Meal Assistance: Providing basic meal preparation and assistance.
- Community & Transport: Driving the participant in his Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) to work, community activities, social outings, and medical appointments.
- Development: Supporting the participant with routine building, organisation, capacity building, and promoting independence
Shift Schedule:
Important Note: Applicants must be available for all the specific shifts listed below:
- Tuesday: 6:30am – 10:30am
- Thursday: 6:30am – 9:30am
- Thursday: 2:30pm – 10:30pm
- Friday: 6:30am – 9:30am
What We Are Looking For (Requirements):
- Experience/Qualifications: Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) OR 6+ months of equivalent industry experience.
- Checks & Training: A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC), and current First Aid & CPR certifications.
- Transport: A valid Driver's Licence and an insured personal vehicle.
- Core Capabilities: Strong communication and organisational skills, combined with a reliable and trustworthy nature. You should be calm under pressure and passionate about delivering person-centred care.
- Values: A neuro-affirming, LGBTQIA+ friendly, and person-centred approach to care.
- Work Rights: Valid right to work in Australia.
Technology & Systems Requirements:
Confidence with technology is essential for this role. L2LR utilizes a mobile application for vital day-to-day operations:
- Managing rosters, scheduling, and clocking in/out.
- Recording participant documentation, client notes, and progress updates.
- Note: Staff are required to either carry an assigned work phone while on shift or utilize a personal phone equipped with a dual SIM.
