About the Role
BGC Automotive Pty Ltd trading as Kingsley Auto Care is seeking a trade-qualified Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician to join our team. In this role, you will diagnose, overhaul, service, and repair mechanical parts and systems across a diverse fleet of light vehicles.
We are looking for a skilled professional capable of taking complex repairs from initial fault diagnosis through to full system reassembly and road testing.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & Fault Detection: Inspect vehicles and utilize electronic/computerized diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine performance issues.
- Component Overhaul & Repair: Dismantle, inspect, repair, or replace worn and defective engine assemblies, transmissions, braking systems, steering mechanisms, suspensions, and clutches.
- Engine & System Reassembly: Reassemble engines, sub-assemblies, and mechanical components back to manufacturer specifications following major repairs or servicing.
- Scheduled Maintenance: Carry out routine vehicle servicing, oil and filter changes, tune-ups, and fluid flushes to ensure optimal running condition and emission compliance.
- Testing & Calibration: Test drive vehicles and calibrate repaired mechanical and electronic systems using precision testing devices to verify safety and performance standards.
- Parts Management & Safety: Recondition or fit replacement spare parts and ensure all workshop operations adhere to occupational health and safety regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Qualification: Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (ANZSCO Skill Level 3 equivalent) or international equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in light vehicle mechanical repairs and complex troubleshooting.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of modern diagnostic tools, engine management systems, and mechanical components.
- Licence: Current valid Driver’s Licence (Manual preferred).
- Attributes: High attention to detail, efficient time management, and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
