THE ROLE:
Austrade is seeking an experienced and motivated Information Management and Records Specialist to lead and manage the information and records management function across the agency. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic and operational framework for managing Austrade's information assets in compliance with the National Archives Act and other relevant legislation and standards.
Duties Include:
- Manage and contribute to the development and implementation of an information and records management strategy that supports Austrade's business objectives and meets legislative, regulatory and technical requirements.
- Manage Austrade’s Information policies and supporting procedures and coordinating the NAA Digital Check-up survey.
- Facilitate access to records and establish best standards and practices for information and records management across Austrade's digital and physical information systems.
- Provide sound, detailed advice and guidance to Austrade staff on information and records management issues, policies, procedures and systems.
- Support and train Austrade staff on the use of Austrade's Electronic Documents & Records Management System (EDRMS) and other information management tools and platforms.
- Conduct and implement the technical aspects of information management, such as complex searches, data migration, classification, retention and disposal of records.
- Manage and oversee the administration and support of Austrade's EDRMS for both physical and digital information, ensuring its functionality, security, integrity and performance.
- Coordinate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, such as business areas, IT teams, National Archives of Australia, and other government agencies, on information and records management matters, including in the development and implementation of new record authorities.
- Monitor and report on the compliance and performance of information and records management within Austrade and identify areas for improvement and innovation.
- Champion and promote a culture of knowledge sharing and information literacy within Austrade and foster collaboration and engagement among staff and stakeholders.
