We are currently seeking a reliable Trade Assistant to assemble LFP batteries in a permanent full-time role with an immediate start. We are a well-established manufacturer (30+ years) specialising in high-quality energy storage solutions and seeking a skilled trade assistant to join our growing battery production team. We are expanding within the Australian renewable energy market and have a strong track record of success.
Duties include:
· Assisting senior technicians and assemblers
· General workshop labouring and maintaining a clean work area
· Use of basic hand tools, power tools, and specialised assembly equipment
· Working safely in a battery production environment
· Assembling, testing, and repairing LFP battery packs and modules
· Following assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, cut lists, and basic technical drawings
· Preparing components, crimping connections, fitting hardware, installing BMS (Battery Management System) elements, and completing general pack assembly tasks
· Conducting basic functional testing, voltage checks, capacity verification, and identifying/repairing faults in battery systems
· Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
· Good work ethic and reliability
· Ability to work as part of a team
Requirements:
· Experience working in a workshop, electronics assembly, or fabrication environment
· Ability to accurately assemble, wire, test, and repair battery components (no high-voltage welding involved)
· Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and understanding of ESD (electrostatic discharge) precautions
· Reliable, punctual, and able to work full-time on a permanent basis
Essential:
· Hands-on experience with assembly of electrical components (e.g., crimping, torquing, fitting hardware)
· Basic understanding of electrical systems, multimeter use, and safe handling of lithium batteries
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
· Reliable transport and ability to start immediately
