Position Description:
The Quality Inspector – Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) is responsible for ensuring all Manufactured heavy vehicles meet our brand's quality, engineering and customer standards prior to delivery.
The primary focus of this role is conducting detailed Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on completed heavy vehicles.
In addition, the successful applicant will provide support across other quality-related functions within the business as required.
Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality, this role performs detailed inspections throughout the final stage of the manufacturing process.
The successful applicant will identify defects, verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications, ensure workmanship meets company standards, complete operational and functional testing, and support continuous improvement initiatives to maintain the highest level of product quality.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on completed heavy vehicles prior to customer delivery
- Inspect completed units against engineering drawings, specifications and approved manufacturing documentation.
- Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect paint finish, cosmetic appearance, fit and finish, decals, component installation and overall presentation.
- Perform operational and functional testing to verify correct operation of crane systems and components.
- Identify, document and communicate defects requiring rectification.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure non-conformances are resolved.
- Assist with investigating recurring quality issues and provide feedback to improve manufacturing processes.
- Report any quality concerns, safety hazards or potential product risks.
Position Qualifications
Applicants must have permanent working rights in Australia.
Education / Training
- Trade qualification in a mechanical, automotive, heavy vehicle or manufacturing discipline is desirable.
- Current HR Driver's Licence.
Experience
- Minimum five years' experience in a quality inspection, manufacturing, heavy vehicle, mobile equipment or similar industry.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of quality inspection processes and manufacturing standards.
- Previous experience inspecting heavy vehicles, cranes, mining equipment, construction equipment or similar products is highly regarded.
- Computer literacy with experience completing inspection records and reports.

Pay: $36.00 – $39.00 per hour
