Senior Legal Officer 4/5, Salary relative to experience (148,380 - $162,153)
We are seeking a highly motivated lawyer to join a collaborative and high performing in house legal team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to projects and programs that directly impact communities who are recovering from disasters or need help preparing for future disasters.
You will work closely with stakeholders to manage legal risks, negotiate complex agreements, and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.
This role offers autonomy and the opportunity to influence strategic outcomes while sharing your expertise through training and knowledge transfer initiatives.
About You
You are a motivated and detail-oriented professional who can:
Provide clear, accurate, and solution-focused legal advice on complex matters.
Draft and review complex contracts, agreements, and briefing notes to achieve business objectives.
Assist with negotiations for high-value and complex commercial transactions.
Conduct research and analysis to resolve diverse legal, regulatory, and compliance issues.
Prioritise competing demands and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Share specialist knowledge through training and mentoring to build capability across the organisation.
Demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to manage sensitive projects with professionalism.
Operate with a high level of autonomy and accountability for decision-making and workload management.
You will have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm, and a commitment to providing high quality advice and services.
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated extensive knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:
Administrative law
Planning law
Property law
Commercial law
Complex grants arrangements
Structuring complex transactions
Three years minimum post admission experience is preferable.
Essential Requirements
Eligible to hold a current practising certificate in NSW
