Join Transport for NSW's Chief Data Office and help shape how geospatial intelligence is used across one of Australia's largest and most complex organisations.
As a Senior Geospatial Specialist, you'll be a trusted advisor, analytical leader and capability champion within the Enterprise Geospatial team. You'll work across a broad range of business and technology initiatives, helping stakeholders unlock value from geospatial data while promoting best practice, innovation and professional capability across Transport.
This is a unique opportunity to influence how geospatial analysis is applied across planning, operations, infrastructure and service delivery, while helping build a strong and connected geospatial community.
You will:
- Lead complex geospatial analysis, modelling and visualisation activities that support strategic and operational decision-making across Transport.

- Provide specialist advice and guidance on geospatial analytics, location intelligence and spatial problem-solving.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand challenges and identify opportunities to use geospatial data and insights more effectively.
- Act as a trusted advisor to project teams, analysts and geospatial practitioners across the organisation.
- Lead the Enterprise Geospatial Community of Practice, supporting collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Design and facilitate workshops, capability uplift activities, presentations and lunch-and-learn sessions.
- Evaluate emerging geospatial technologies, analytical approaches and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Promote best practice in geospatial analysis, visualisation and communication of spatial insights

About you
You are an experienced geospatial professional who combines strong analytical capability with the ability to engage, influence and support a diverse range of stakeholders.
You enjoy helping others succeed, are naturally curious about emerging technologies, and are passionate about growing geospatial capability across the organisation.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in geospatial analysis, modelling and location intelligence within complex organisational environments.
- Strong understanding of contemporary geospatial technologies, analytical methods and visualisation techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex spatial information into meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Experience engaging with stakeholders and communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A passion for capability building, knowledge sharing and mentoring others.
- Interest in emerging geospatial technologies, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in GIS, spatial science, geography, data analytics or a related discipline.
