We partner with world-leading manufacturers in the power transmission and distribution fields to offer our customers products which meet the stringent requirements of the Australian market. This includes instrument transformers, retrofit solutions for aging switchgear, protection relays, and transformer accessories.
We are now seeking an Accountant to assist in financials operations and provide accounting support to the whole business including support with new projects in the next phase of growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger accounts, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset register, journals, accruals and prepayment schedules, ensuring timely completion of month-end and year-end reporting requirements.
- Prepare and analyse project cost estimates, labour and material costs, management reports and financial statements, supporting business decision-making and contract pricing revalidations.
- Assist with GST, BAS and PAYG reporting, support audit and year-end financial statement preparation, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and internal controls.
- Support the maintenance and integrity of accounting systems, financial data and reporting processes, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency and financial performance.
Skills and qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountant, Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting role.
- CPA or CA qualification or progress/intention to pursue (desirable).
- Experience working in project-based, technical or infrastructure-related businesses (desirable).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, with experience using Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP system (desirable).
- High level of attention to detail and organisation capabilities.
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles, financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Proactive and solutions-orientated approach.
- Collaborative team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
