Grosvenor Mine – an underground steelmaking coal mine produced its first longwall coal in May 2016 and is located in Moranbah, about 190 km south-west of Mackay.
We are building the team to deliver the next chapter of Grosvenor Mine. With a planned return to longwall production by Q4 2027, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to a major mine restart and help shape the future of underground mining.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you will play a role in implementing leading-edge technology, automation, monitoring systems and operational improvements that will define how the mine operates for years to come.
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate Human Resources Officer to join the team at Grosvenor Mine based in Moranbah, QLD. This fast paced and dynamic position is based on site where you will support the mine's Human Resources Business Partnering portfolio. This includes provision of both corporate and site Human Resources systems, processes, and services across the full employment lifecycle in this true “hands on” Human Resources generalist role.
As the Human Resources Officer your key responsibilities include:

Lead recruitment efforts for all Grosvenor roles, conducting interviews, weekly reporting and managing the selection process.

Oversee the probationary review process, including scheduling and conducting reviews, and issuing probationary review completion letters.

Serve as a resource for employees and managers, offering guidance and clarification on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.

Assist with administrative tasks include processing purchase requisitions for HR team expenses, assist with invoicing and maintain HR-related data and documents on the network drive.

Manage accommodation requests including updates to employee housing arrangements and liaise with accommodation providers.

Support payroll processing activities, including data entry, payroll adjustments, and resolving payroll-related inquiries from employees.

Oversee the distribution, collection, and inventory management of employee uniforms, ensuring compliance with uniform policies and procedures.

Serve as a point of contact for walk-in inquiries from employees, providing assistance and guidance on HR-related matters.
Qualifications
The key attributes contributing to your success in this role will include:

Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, or a related discipline (desirable)

Have experience working in mining, heavy industry, or construction (desirable)

Resilient nature, openness for change and demonstrated ability to drive best practice

Excellent time management skills, ability to meet deadlines & plan ahead

Ability to prioritise workload and work in a fast-paced environment

Exceptional communication skills, ability to negotiate, influence and achieve stakeholder buy-in
