About the opportunity
Arise Care Staff is seeking experienced, reliable and compassionate Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses to join our healthcare staffing team across Canberra and the ACT.
We offer flexible agency opportunities for nurses committed to delivering safe, professional and person-centred care. Placements may be available across hospitals, acute care, aged care, disability, rehabilitation, community care and other healthcare settings, depending on client and facility requirements.
Applicants must have at leastone year of post-registration nursing experience. Recent acute care or hospital experience is highly regarded.
Key responsibilities
Depending on your role, scope of practice and placement, responsibilities may include:
- Providing safe, evidence-based and person-centred nursing care.
- Assessing and monitoring patients or clients.
- Completing clinical observations and responding appropriately to changes or deterioration.
- Administering medications within your authorised scope of practice.
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Providing clear clinical handovers.
- Following care plans, infection prevention procedures and medication safety requirements.
- Escalating clinical concerns promptly to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Working collaboratively with nurses, medical practitioners, allied health professionals and support staff.
- Maintaining patient dignity, privacy, choice and cultural safety.
- Complying with workplace health and safety, clinical governance and organisational policies.
Registered Nurses may also be required to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, as well as supervise and delegate care appropriately.
Enrolled Nurses will work within their authorised scope of practice and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Essential requirements
Applicants must provide:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.
- At least one year of post-registration clinical experience.
- Evidence satisfying the 100-point identification check.
- Evidence of current Australian working rights.
- Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance for NDIS-related placements.
- Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration, where required by the placement.
- Current CPR or Basic Life Support certificate.
- Current First Aid certificate.
- Evidence of immunisation and occupational health screening that meets the host facility’s requirements.
- Current manual handling training.
- Current infection prevention and control training.
- Medication administration competency appropriate to your registration and scope of practice.
- At least two professional referees, including a recent clinical supervisor or manager.
- Strong clinical documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work safely within your professional scope of practice.
Highly regarded
- Recent acute medical, surgical, emergency, rehabilitation, mental health or hospital experience.
- Experience in aged care, disability or community nursing.
- Experience recognising and responding to clinical deterioration.
- Current driver licence and reliable transport.
- Availability for morning, afternoon, night and weekend shifts.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module or other relevant NDIS induction modules.
