The Opportunity:
This is a permanent opportunity
The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation is seeking a capable and motivated Project Officer to support the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) functions within the Systems and Improvements Branch.
In this role, you will contribute to the coordination and delivery of EIA-related projects, supporting system governance, data integrity and continuous improvement initiatives. Working within the framework of the Environmental Protection Act 1986, you will assist in maintaining and enhancing Environment Online and associated digital platforms that underpin the State’s environmental assessment processes.
You will work collaboratively across the organisation and with external stakeholders, supporting consistent processes, guidance materials and reporting that contribute to effective, transparent and accountable regulatory outcomes. The position also plays a key role in supporting statutory, performance and financial reporting, along with contract management and cost recovery activities.
The successful applicant will coordinate project activities, monitor progress against milestones and identify risks, ensuring work is delivered within agreed timeframes. You will also assist users of Environment Online and related platforms, supporting compliance with legislative, policy and procedural requirements.
We are looking for someone with sound project coordination and analytical skills, strong communication abilities and the capacity to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, contributing to problem-solving, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
