We are seeking an experienced Trainer & Assessor to join our team in Kapooka and support delivery of the Army Indigenous Development Program (AIDP).
AIDP is a 17-week program delivered in partnership with the Australian Army, providing participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence required for Army entry and broader employment pathways through the delivery of FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways.
About the Role
As a Trainer & Assessor, you will deliver and assess accredited foundation skills training, helping participants develop literacy, numeracy and work-readiness skills in a structured and supportive environment. You will work closely with mentors, tutors, program staff and Defence personnel to support positive participant outcomes and successful program completion.
The next AIDP intake will run from 2nd July 2026 to 8th October. Successful applicants may be required to attend planning and induction activities in the week prior to program commencement.
We are seeking trainers who can commit to approximately 15–28 hours per week throughout the program. Delivery hours are generally 8:30am–4:00pm, with a mix of full-day and half-day shifts available. We understand flexibility is important and can work with successful applicants to develop a schedule that suits both program requirements and individual availability.
Additional opportunities may also be available across other ESI programs and projects for suitably qualified applicants for additional hours, or extended work periods.
Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
- Experience delivering and assessing training within the VET sector
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in VET sector training delivery and assessment is required
- Strong facilitation and communication skills
- Current Driver Licence and Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- Working With Children Check must be obtained before starting employment
- Ability to meet Defence site access requirements
- Security clearance is required to meet Defence site access requirements
Highly Regarded
- LLN or foundation skills training experience
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants or communities
- Experience delivering employment, education or workforce development programs
