Our busy & high pace restaurant is looking for an experienced chef specillised in Indian cooking. The right candidate must be passionate & have good knowledge of Indian cuisine.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan & prepare wide range of food items as per menu.
- Demonstrate right cooking techniques to other kitchen staff.
- Monitor the consistency of taste, texture & portions of served items.
- Develop & modify menu based on customer requirements & dietary preferences.
- Estimate food & labour cost, maintain inventory & stock.
- Strictly enforce food hygiene & safety protocols.
- Order, manage & store inventry as per food safety guidelines.
- Provide direct supervision & training to the staff for smooth kitchen operation.
- Manage kitchen operations & staff effectively.
- Encourage others for minimum food wastage & follow kitchen safety rules.
Requirement
- Minimum of 1 year experience especially in Indian restaurant.
- Certificate 4 / Diploma or equivalent qualification as per ANZSCO requirements.
- Strong understanding of Indian cooking techniques including curries, tandoori items, rice dishes, and regional specialties.
- Ability to work in a high pace kitchen especially on weekends.
- Strong communication & supervision skills.
- Ability to understand customer preferences & dietary requirements.
- Strong understanding of Indian spices & different types of Indian breads.
- Ability to manage the team effectively.

Pay: $80,134.23 – $85,428.43 per year
