Larvotto Resources' has commenced exploration at Hillgrove and is expanding the geology team. This is an outstanding opportunity to join the company and embark on a transformative journey at Hillgrove Mine.
Situated in the New England NSW Orogenic Belt which is host to numerous gold, copper and antimony deposits, Hillgrove Mine is a high-grade Mineral Resource of 1.4Moz @ 61.g/t AuEq.
Located 23km east of the township of Armidale, NSW, Hillgrove provides an opportunity to work and reside within a vibrant regional community in the New England region of NSW.
Larvotto Resources is seeking applications from experienced Exploration Geologists to join our mining team full-time to assist with work programs that include target delineation, drill testing, and advanced exploration and resource definition drilling.
This role will be offered on a Residential basis with relocation assistance provided.
Enjoy a work/life balance roster - 8 days on, 6 days off.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the planning and execution of exploration and resource definition drilling programs.
- Coordinate day-to-day drilling activities and work closely with drilling contractors, field personnel and other technical teams.
- Undertake geological and structural mapping, field reconnaissance and geochemical sampling programs.
- Complete geological logging, core photography, core mark-up, sampling and sample dispatch activities.
- Implement and maintain appropriate sampling, quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Compile, validate and interpret geological, geochemical, geophysical and drilling data.
- Prepare geological plans, sections, maps and three-dimensional interpretations to support target generation.
- Identify, evaluate and prioritise exploration targets using available geological and technical information.
- Maintain accurate geological databases, GIS information and other technical records.
- Assist with the preparation of exploration reports, work programs, budgets and technical presentations.
- Liaise professionally with landholders, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with exploration, mine geology, resource geology and technical services personnel.
- Ensure activities are undertaken in accordance with safety, environmental, heritage and regulatory requirements.
- Actively contribute to a safe, respectful and high-performing workplace.
About You
You will possess a passion for Geology, enjoy working within small teams, and ideally have experience with narrow vein orogenic gold deposits. Due to the terrain, the work requires a level of physical fitness and is most suited to those who enjoy working outdoors.
You will also have these capabilities and experience within your toolkit:
- Tertiary - Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Geology or Geoscience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience liaising with drilling contractors and field personnel;
- Experience liaising with landholders and other stakeholders;
- Lithological mapping experience and data capture;
- Excellent software skills using Micromine, Datashed, QField, QGIS and Logchief;
- Strong skills to manage and/or assist with project planning and execution;
- An inquisitive mind with an attitude and desire to succeed.
Ideally you will possess:
- 4WD experience (accredited qualification favourable)
- Senior First Aid / CPR Certificate
- Radiation Safety Licence (NSW)
To be considered you will need:
- Current valid Manual Driver's License
- Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
- Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance, obtained within the last six months upon request or ability to gain
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, and comply with ongoing testing during employment.
