The Opportunity
To support the growth of our company, Bhagwan Marine is looking for a motivated Graduate Project Engineer - Mechanical to join our Subsea team based in Perth. The ideal candidate will have project engineering experience within the Maritime / Offshore or Construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review functional project documentation, including engineering deliverables, organisational workflows, and task allocation across offshore operations, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and eliminating duplication of effort.
- Analyse project requirements, workforce allocation, and operational constraints to optimise labour utilisation, equipment deployment, and offshore execution efficiency.
- Review project schedules, vessel operations, and lifting requirements, ensuring optimal coordination of personnel, marine assets, and subsea equipment.
- Prepare and produce engineering drawings and technical documentation (AutoCAD) for subsea installations, lifting operations, and marine construction activities in accordance with project specifications.
- Develop engineering calculations, lift plans, and technical procedures, ensuring safe and efficient execution of offshore and diving operations.
- Define technical specifications for equipment, materials, lifting gear, and subsea components, including assessment of material suitability, load capacity, and operational constraints in marine environments.
- Coordinate and manage the mobilisation and offshoreexecution of projects, including labour, machines, vessels, and equipment, ensuring timely delivery in line with project schedules.
- Establish and implement engineering standards, procedures, and safety policies, ensuring compliance with Australian standards, marine regulations, and diving safety requirements.
- Conduct engineering reviews, inspections, and verifications of lifting operations, subsea installations, and project deliverables to ensure compliance with design intent and operational safety.
- Support and coordinate maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment readiness, ensuring optimal performance of mechanical systems and subsea assets.
- Liaise with clients, offshore teams, and multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met, including preparation of technical reports, risk assessments, and method statements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering with the following specialisations:
- Mechanical / Mechatronic
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prepare methodologies, plans and other documentation for projects.
- Ability to deliver projects with safety, budget, quality, environment, and contract obligations in mind.
- Ability to take prompt corrective action when it is required.
- Strong work ethic with communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to display initiative.
- Organised with excellent time management skills.
