The Manager, AML/CTF Financial Crime Risk is responsible for providing Line 2 oversight, advisory and challenge across AML/CTF, Sanctions and FATCA/CRS risks. The role supports the development, maintenance and implementation of financial crime frameworks, policies and controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations and AMP’s risk appetite.
Through specialist expertise and informed challenge, the role strengthens governance, control effectiveness and regulatory outcomes by translating evolving AML/CTF obligations into practical, risk-based frameworks and business practices across the organisation.
How will you make an impact
Policy, framework, regulatory interpretation and escalations
- Monitor and interpret AML/CTF regulatory developments, including AUSTRAC guidance and legislative change, and translate these into clear framework updates, policies and control expectations
- Develop, maintain and enhance AML/CTF frameworks, standards and methodologies, ensuring obligations are embedded, governed and aligned to AMP’s risk appetite
- Support policy reviews, methodology updates and AML/CTF change initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance, consistency and effective implementation across the business
- Embed insights from regulatory change, industry developments and internal risk events into frameworks and control design
AML/CTF Escalations and Review
- Provide Line 2 advisory support across AML/CTF matters, acting as a key escalation point for issues including ECDD, personnel due diligence and control effectiveness
- Review and challenge Line 1 AML/CTF risk assessments to ensure risks are accurately identified, assessed and mitigated
- Support oversight of AML Change Assessments (CAAML) and broader initiatives to ensure risks are effectively assessed and managed prior to implementation
- Apply informed judgement to assess risk positions, support escalation decisions and promote consistent application of AML/CTF frameworks
Governance, Committee and Reporting
- Contribute to governance forums and management committees, including preparation of materials, insights and escalation of AML/CTF matters to FCCC and Board-level reporting
- Support AMLCO and regulatory reporting, ensuring AML/CTF matters are accurately captured, evidenced and communicated
- Contribute to regulatory engagement, including AUSTRAC reporting and responses to information requests
- Maintain governance artefacts, including issue registers, reporting packs and documentation that evidence effective Line 2 oversight
Training, Awareness & Capability and Oversight
- Maintain AML/CTF training content aligned to AML/CTF Program requirements and regulatory expectations
- Review training effectiveness and ensure alignment to emerging risks, regulatory priorities and business needs
Deliver insights and updates that translate regulatory change into practical awareness across the organisation

What you will bring to the role
- 5+ years’ experience in AML/CTF compliance, financial crime risk or regulatory environments within financial services
- Proven experience in policy and framework development, control design, attestations and governance reporting
- Strong understanding of AML/CTF obligations, regulatory expectations and Line 2 oversight practices
- Banking and/or Wealth Management experience essential
- Experience supporting regulatory engagement and reporting (e.g. AUSTRAC)
Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Law or related field
CAMS or other financial crime, compliance or risk qualifications highly regarded

You bring strong technical financial crime and AML/CTF framework expertise, with deep knowledge of regulatory obligations, policies and risk management frameworks. You are experienced in developing and maintaining AML/CTF frameworks, interpreting regulatory change and translating requirements into practical, risk-based outcomes that strengthen control effectiveness and compliance.
You demonstrate strong execution and ownership, operating as a self-directed specialist with accountability for delivering high-quality outcomes across frameworks, governance and change initiatives. You are organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining consistency and integrity across policies, controls and reporting.
You bring sound judgement and influencing capability, with the confidence to provide independent challenge and support risk-based decision-making. You translate complex regulatory and technical issues into clear, actionable insights and communicate effectively with stakeholders across Line 1 and Line 2.
You are proactive, collaborative and continuous improvement focused, building strong relationships and contributing to uplift in capability, awareness and governance outcomes across financial crime risk.
