The Opportunity
Veolia ANZ is seeking a Collection Services (Metropolitan) to join our Environmental Services team based in Kilburn, SA. This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing metropolitan collection services and fleet operations across South Australia. Reporting directly to the General Manager, managing a team of experienced leaders while driving strategic initiatives, operational excellence, safety performance and commercial outcomes. Working closely with internal stakeholders and customers, you will identify opportunities to improve efficiency, support business growth and deliver exceptional service.

What you'll be responsible for
Lead metropolitan collection services and fleet operations across South Australia
Manage resource allocation to meet balanced scorecard objectives and KPI targets
Oversee Adelaide Waste Collection Services budgets while driving commercial performance
Champion efficiency through route optimisation, fleet utilisation and continuous improvement initiatives
Lead, coach and develop a team of experienced Operations Managers and Supervisors through performance management, goal setting and development planning
Monitor operational performance, commercial outcomes and key business metrics
Build strong relationships across Fleet and Sales to support customer outcomes, business growth and tender opportunities
Evaluate business opportunities and support new business bid preparations
Ensure compliance with relevant Awards, EBAs, NHVR requirements and Veolia safety standards in partnership with the SHEQ team
Champion a high-performing culture aligned with Veolia values
What you'll need to be successful
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics or a related discipline are desirable, or equivalent operational leadership experience
Demonstrated experience managing large-scale transport, logistics, fleet or operational environments
Strong commercial acumen with experience improving performance and efficiencies
Strong understanding of heavy vehicle operations, transport safety and environmental compliance
Experience managing teams in safety-focused environments and driving continuous improvement
Ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
Sound knowledge of relevant regulatory and legislative requirements
Waste industry experience is advantageous but not essential
Current Australian Driver's Licence
