We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to oversee the delivery of the City's Waste Collection Services and Landfill Services operations. In this role, you will provide strong operational leadership, direction, mentoring and support to dedicated teams while ensuring the efficient, cost-effective and compliant delivery of waste management services. You will manage key contracts across FOGO, recycling, green waste and bulk verge waste collections, ensuring adherence to all statutory, environmental and licence requirements.
The position also oversees landfill operational contracts, including landfill gas management, recycling and green waste processing. Working closely with the Manager Waste Services, you will contribute to budget management, strategic planning, capital procurement and the coordination of site development projects to support the City's long-term waste management objectives.
To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing multidisciplinary teams.
- Extensive experience delivering operational services within the waste management sector or a comparable industry.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects concurrently.
- Qualification in Civil Engineering, Waste Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Project Management related qualification or demonstrated experience in project delivery.
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Training).
