We're looking for an experienced Senior Planner/Scheduler to join our Planning team. You'll work closely with the Manager – Planning to schedule and roster our public transport networks, making sure our customers get where they need to go, on time, every time.
This role operates with a high degree of autonomy across the full spectrum of network planning: timetable design, scheduling, and rostering. You'll liaise directly with clients and work hand-in-hand with our Service Delivery teams to drive network efficiency and positive public transport outcomes, all while following the consistent, proven processes of the Kinetic Way and championing continuous improvement.

Schedule and roster public transport networks in Hastus, using consistent methodology aligned with the Kinetic Way

Identify and rectify network performance issues in a timely manner

Review network routes and timetable design to maximise patronage through data-driven methodology

Contribute to delivery of the Planning Annual Plan

Assist in producing network planning and scheduling tender documentation

Stay current with Hastus technology and best practice

Build and maintain strong relationships with government and public clients, suppliers, and internal Service Delivery and Performance teams

Contribute to positive negotiated outcomes with client stakeholders and operational teams

Proven experience working autonomously across all aspects of network planning, timetable design, scheduling, and rostering, with sound to strong network design skills

Experience working autonomously on a tender or major network change

Minimum 5 years' experience using scheduling and rostering software such as Hastus or Austrics (essential)

Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma (desirable)

Experience with dashboard/utilisation software such as Power BI (desirable)

Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and agile environment
