About the role:
As part of the Surgical Division at Flinders Medical Centre, you will provide high-quality nursing care across a range of specialties including general surgery, liver transplant, neurosurgery, ENT, vascular, urology, orthopaedics, plastics, urology, day surgery, surgical high dependency, and cardiothoracic.
Deliver high-quality, safe care in line with SALHN Integrated Governance and Consumer Engagement frameworks.
Assess patient needs, plan, implement, and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies.
Provide person-centred nursing care and case management with increasing autonomy.
Lead and coordinate patient care, support staff, and contribute to quality improvement activities.
Support student nurses, new staff, and participate in research, education, and continuous learning initiatives.
About you:
You are an experienced surgical nurse who takes pride in safe, effective care and works well within a team that values collaboration and continuous improvement.
Proven experience in delivering high-quality surgical nursing care.
Strong communication skills, including problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Creative, innovative, and flexible approach to problem-solving in healthcare settings.
Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, including a current practising certificate
