Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Supervisor to coordinate and oversee scaffolding-related construction activities across multiple project sites throughout Western Australia. In this role, you will act as the primary site supervisor, responsible for managing site operations, coordinating labour and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety and construction requirements, monitoring project progress, and maintaining effective communication between all site stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily and weekly scaffolding construction activities across multiple residential, commercial, industrial and civil construction projects, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved work schedules, engineering designs and project specifications.
- Develop and implement site work plans, workforce deployment schedules and resource allocation arrangements to optimise productivity and support timely completion of construction activities.
- Lead, mentor and provide direction to site supervisors, leading hands and scaffolding crews, ensuring consistent compliance with company procedures, project specifications, quality standards and performance objectives.
- Review construction drawings, scaffolding designs, technical specifications and project documentation to plan site activities and ensure compliance with engineering and construction requirements.
- Coordinate labour, equipment, transport and material resources across multiple sites to maximise operational efficiency and minimise project delays.
- Monitor construction schedules and work progress, identifying potential site issues and implementing corrective actions to maintain planned work programs and site performance targets.
- Monitor labour utilisation, material usage and site productivity to support efficient resource utilisation and cost-effective site operations.
- Assist management with resource forecasting, labour planning and site cost monitoring to support efficient site delivery.
- Establish, implement and enforce compliance with Australian WHS legislation, scaffolding standards, company safety procedures and site-specific safety requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments and compliance audits, investigating incidents and implementing corrective and preventative actions where required.
- Liaise with principal contractors, project managers, engineers, clients, subcontractors and regulatory authorities to coordinate construction activities and resolve operational issues.
- Monitor the quality of scaffolding installations, modifications and dismantling activities, ensuring all works comply with project specifications, Australian Standards and relevant building regulations.
- Prepare and review site reports, progress updates, safety records, workforce performance reports and project documentation for senior management and clients.
- Participate in project planning meetings and provide technical and operational advice regarding construction methodology, site access, staging requirements and resource planning.
- Provide operational leadership and technical guidance to site supervisory personnel across multiple concurrent scaffolding projects.
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of supervisory and operational staff to maintain a skilled and productive workforce.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance, operational efficiency, workforce capability and overall project outcomes.
Job Requirements
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma or higher qualification in Building and Construction, Construction Management, Civil Construction or a related discipline, and/or equivalent industry experience.
- A minimum of five years demonstrated experience in senior construction site supervision, including responsibility for coordinating supervisory personnel, workforce deployment and scaffolding operations across multiple construction projects is highly desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, construction site safety and scaffolding compliance standards.
- Expert ability to read, interpret, and challenge construction and scaffolding technical drawings and engineering designs.
- Strong on-site management, problem-solving and communication skills to manage high-stakes client and stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple job sites and work under project deadlines.
- Valid White Card is mandatory; High Risk Scaffolding Licence is highly preferred.
- Willing to travel to various construction sites across Western Australia.
