Cardinal Care Support Services is looking for a caring and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Cairns. You will support NDIS participants to improve their independence, daily living skills and participation in the community.
We can assist the successful applicant with relocation costs, first month’s accommodation and a vehicle for work purposes.
About the role
You will:
- Assess clients’ physical, developmental, emotional and functional needs using clinical observations and standardised assessments.
- Prepare therapy plans to help clients improve daily living skills, mobility, community participation and independence.
- Assess clients’ home, work and community environments and recommend practical modifications or assistive equipment.
- Provide advice and training to clients, families, carers and support workers.
- Work closely with other health professionals, support coordinators and service providers.
- Maintain accurate case notes, progress reports and professional records.
About you
You will have:
- A Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia through Ahpra.
- Experience working with people with disability, aged care clients or people requiring community-based support.
- Good communication, assessment, report writing and time-management skills.
- A current driver licence and willingness to travel to client locations.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and current First Aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain them.
