Fast growing computer store located at Melbourne Cbd , seeking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable IT Hardware Technician in retail environment.
The candidate needs to possess:
· Good communication skills and speak fluent English
· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair notebook and computers in timely manners.
· Good technical knowledge of mobile phone and tablet
· Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop computer software and hardware repairs, this includes apple and window base machines.
· Strong knowledge of Network installation and setup.
· Good knowledge of computer data imaging and related experience.
· Strong background on On-site support and remote support.
· Some experience in soldering (desired)
· At least 3-5 years proven experience in IT Hardware Technician/IT Support Technician work environment.
Key responsibilities
· Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support, independently diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and system-related issues.
· Install, configure, test and maintain desktop computers, laptops, Apple devices, peripherals and other ICT equipment.
· Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair hardware faults, including replacement and upgrading of components where required.
· Assess hardware and software issues and determine appropriate solutions to restore system functionality and performance.
· Configure and maintain Windows OS, device drivers, business applications and other software required for business operations.
· Perform hardware upgrades, system configuration, preventative maintenance and performance optimisation of computer equipment.
· Troubleshoot LAN connectivity and basic network issues, including connectivity between computers, peripherals and network equipment.
· Install system, software and security updates, monitor antivirus protection and perform routine data backup and system maintenance.
· Conduct testing and quality checks following installation, repair, replacement or configuration of hardware and software to ensure systems are operating correctly.
· Provide on-site technical support to customers and clients, including hardware installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
· Maintain IT equipment, diagnostic tools, replacement components and technical resources to support efficient service delivery.
· Maintain accurate technical documentation, service records and records of hardware configurations, repairs, upgrades and maintenance activities.
· Liaise with customers and clients to understand technical requirements, explain identified faults and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
Required skills, qualification and work experience required
- At least a bachelor’s degree in IT/IS, computer systems or related certification
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals and ICT equipment.
- At least 3–5-year proven experience in IT Hardware Technician or related field
· Knowledge of Windows OS and common business applications.
· Experience with Apple devices and related software.
· Understanding of LAN connectivity and basic network troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience providing technical support in a customer-facing environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Pay: $80,000.00 + superannuation per year
