Join our team as a Maintenance Crew Team Leader - Southern Moreton Bay Islands
Lead a small, hands-on team delivering essential maintenance services across the beautiful Southern Moreton Bay Islands. You’ll oversee civil, marine, parks, open space, and conservation maintenance activities, ensuring high-quality, timely, and efficient outcomes for the local community. This is a dynamic leadership role where no two days are the same, and you’ll make a real impact on island life.
This role is based on the Bay Islands and is ideal for local residents or those who enjoy the unique lifestyle of working by the water. This is a progression-based position, with opportunities to advance from Level 6C to 7C as you develop your leadership skills and technical expertise.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading a small team to deliver high-quality maintenance works safely and efficiently
Coordinating daily operations, allocating tasks, and overseeing contractor activities
Promoting a positive and productive team culture built on teamwork and cooperation
Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and Council standards
Providing technical advice and support across civil, marine, parks, and open space assets
Engaging with customers and stakeholders to deliver excellent service outcomes
Managing records, schedules, and maintenance plans for labour, plant, and materials
Contributing to continuous improvement through innovative work practices
Skills and experience:
Proven experience delivering civil or open space maintenance services to a high standard
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, fostering a motivated team
Strong knowledge of WHS and environmental management practices
Ability to plan, prioritise, and complete work efficiently under changing conditions
Competence in using asset management systems for recording and reporting defects
Physically fit and capable of performing manual and outdoor work in all weather
Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Excavator experience ideal but not essential
