About the Role:
Mount Hospital is looking for Registered Nurses for the Coronary Care Unit to commit on a casual basis. Suitable applicants with the right clinical background are encouraged to apply.

About Our Coronary Care Unit
Our 28-bed Coronary Care Unit is a busy unit with many high-end interventional and surgical cardiac procedures being performed on a regular basis. We routinely see procedures such as PCI, cardiac device insertion, LAAO, ablation, pre-op CABG, cardioversion, TOE and TAVI. In addition to our cardiac surgeries, CABG. valvular implants and replacements and vascular interventions. CCU provides the MET service for the hospital and adjoining medical suites, as well as a Priority Admission Service for chest pain and related respiratory conditions.
At Mount we can offer you experience in a high acuity unit that services three Cath Labs, Hybrid theatre and specialist cardiac theatres. In this role, you will be supported by the Nurse Unit Manager, dedicated Staff Development Nurse, as well as a highly experienced team of Clinical and Registered nurses, offering many years of experience in the specialty of cardiac surgery and CCU nursing.
CCU is well supported by a 14-bed Level 3 Intensive Care Unit completing in excess of 700 open heart procedures per year. If cardiac nursing is your passion, then the Mount is the place to be.
Key responsibilities
As a Coronary Care Registered Nurse, you will:

Deliver evidence-based nursing care

Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team

Ensure patient and staff safety
-
Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care

Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs
Essential Criteria:

Current Registration with AHPRA
-
Post Graduate Certificate in Coronary Care or ICU (or working towards) highly desirable
-
Commitment to Quality Patient Care

Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
-
Sound clinical decision making and problem-solving skills
-
Works well independently and within a team

Excellent communication and customer service skills
-
Basic computer skills
