Boral's Orange Grove Quarry Materials is currently seeking an experienced Fitter to join our maintenance team as a Leading Hand – Mechanical Tradesperson. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will supervise 2 Maintenance Tradespersons and oversee the maintenance program for Fixed Plant equipment.
This role will work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety and Environment legislation and standards.
Your day will involve:
Lead the Maintenance team ensuring Boral safety and environmental standards are complied with.
Oversee Plant shutdowns including contactors
Prompt action and close out of safety issues affecting the workplace.
Breakdown support
- Work on maintenance / repair schedules.
- Complete maintenance documentation.
- Carrying out toolbox talks and pre-work instructions
Work closely with the Maintenance & Quarry Managers
What are we looking for?
- Trade certificate (preferred)
- A valid driver’s licence (essential).
- Experience in fixed plant operations
- Experience in Heavy Machinery
- Preferably experience in the quarrying industry
- Ability to maintain an energetic, self-motivated and enthusiastic work ethic.
- Strong safety and environmental awareness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Quality orientation.
- Passion for operational excellence, safety and self-improvement.
