Position Summary
Coffin Bay Oyster Farm Tours is seeking a full-time Tour Guide Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our regional tourism business based in Coffin Bay, South Australia. This role combines operational management, staff leadership, financial administration, procurement responsibilities, and active participation in guided tours.
The successful applicant will report directly to the business owners and will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of daily operations while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational performance.
Relocation to Coffin Bay, South Australia is required if not currently residing in the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in guided oyster farm tours and tourism experiences.
- Coordinate daily tour schedules, logistics, and operational delivery.
- Ensure guests receive a high-quality tourism experience while maintaining safety standards.
- Participate in outdoor operational activities and physically demanding tasks associated with tour delivery.
- Oversee the daily operation of the business.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and manage staff performance.
- Prepare staff rosters and coordinate payroll processing.
- Manage invoicing, financial reconciliation, and cash handling procedures.
- Oversee procurement, supplier relationships, and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety, hygiene, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Prepare operational reports and provide performance updates to business owners.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years of full-time experience in a Tour Manager or Tourism Management role.
- Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing daily business operations.
- Proven experience coordinating payroll, invoicing, and financial reconciliation processes.
- Experience managing operations within a small to medium-sized tourism business.
- Ability to independently manage daily operations with minimal supervision.
- Strong organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a regional and remote environment.
- Willingness to perform both administrative duties and physically demanding operational tasks.
- Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and peak tourism periods as required.
