- This is a hybrid role working across two venues in Montrose (2 days) and Brunswick (3 days)
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include supporting the Venue Manager in the day-to-day operation and management of the venue, ensuring a consistently high standard of customer service, team performance and event delivery.
- Leading and supporting the Front of House team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Working hands-on on the floor, including waiting tables, serving High Tea, clearing tables and assisting customers throughout their experience.
- Undertaking bar service, including preparing and serving beverages and maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Managing clients' High Tea events, particularly on Saturdays and Sundays, ensuring events run smoothly from set-up through to completion.
- Being a welcoming and visible presence on the floor and assisting with customer enquiries and any issues that arise during service.
- Maintaining the presentation, cleanliness and overall standards of the Tea House throughout service.
- Supporting the Venue Manager with staff rostering and day-to-day team management.
- Providing strong on-the-job training, coaching and skills development for current and new team members.
- Ensuring team members understand and consistently follow company procedures, service standards and policies.
- Supporting the Venue Manager with performance management and addressing any team issues as required.
- Taking a leadership role during service and confidently directing the team when required.
Profile
The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality and providing an outstanding customer experience, with the ability to lead a team while also being completely comfortable getting stuck in and working hands-on during service.
You will be:
- Comfortable with working across two venues - two days at the Montrose Venue and three days at the Brunswick Venue.
- A can-do, proactive, driven and self-motivated individual who takes initiative and gets things done.
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A confident and natural leader with a strong presence and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- An excellent communicator who can communicate clearly and confidently with both customers and team members.
- Naturally warm, friendly and welcoming, whilst also having the confidence to uphold company policies, standards and expectations.
- Hands-on and willing to do whatever is required to ensure the venue runs smoothly - whether that's leading the team, waiting tables, working behind the bar, helping with set-up or assisting customers.
- Confident working under pressure and able to remain calm, organised and solution-focused during busy services.
- Passionate about hospitality and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Comfortable working weekends, with Saturday and Sunday availability required as part of a full-time roster.
- Experienced in, or enthusiastic about, working in a high-volume hospitality environment.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is a strong leader but doesn't consider themselves above the floor. This is a hands-on hospitality role, and the successful candidate will lead by example and be actively involved in service alongside the team.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
