At Lutheran Care, how we support our community directly shapes the experience of those we walk alongside. You’ll lead the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS), supporting volunteers and partners to provide meaningful companionship to older people who may be socially or culturally isolated.
Reporting to the Operations Manager – Families and Relationships, you’ll play a key role in coordinating the program across South Australia and leading partnerships within a consortium of community organisations. You’ll work closely with internal teams, volunteers and external stakeholders to ensure the program runs effectively and meets its objectives.
About the role
0.6 FTE Part Time Position
This is a hands-on leadership role with real community impact. You’ll lead the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) team, coordinating staff, volunteers and consortium partners to deliver a high-quality program that reduces social isolation for older people.
You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the program meets its objectives and contractual requirements, while supporting and developing your team to deliver strong outcomes. Alongside day-to-day delivery, you’ll contribute to continuous improvement, strengthen processes and support the ongoing development of the program.
This role is based in South Australia and involves travel across metro and regional locations as required. We also support flexible ways of working and are open to discussing arrangements that work for both you and the team.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide leadership, supervision, support, motivation and advice to team members.
- Ensure that standards of practice for volunteer recruitment, induction and support are maintained, that will result in contractual requirements being met
- Manage the funding arrangement and ensuring compliance
- Develop a program of support meeting and events consortium partners.
- Identify and develop key strategic relationship networks to achieve goals, and improve outcomes for clients and service delivery methods
- Participate in network meetings
What you’ll bring
- Qualifications and experience in aged care and/or social sciences.
- Extensive experience in managing staff
- Qualifications/extensive experience in volunteer management.
- Demonstrated administrative and organisational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- High level interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups, especially with older people.
- A sound knowledge of aged people’s rights and responsibilities and issues concerning the aged.
